California Governor Gavin Newsom said the state could see a $1.5 billion investment in the new Oakland Athletics stadium for fans. The district has signed a legal aid agreement with San Francisco to ensure boys and girls have equal access to sports as required by federal Title IX law. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and A's owner Manfred O'Malley have threatened to move the A's to Vegas if the Oakland City Council does not drop its lawsuit against the proposed new ballpark, which could violate fair housing laws.
